Burlington School District is seeking a passionate and energetic Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to assist in the SLP department of our wonderful Elementary & Middle Schools. This position is 1/2 time at Edmunds Elementary and 1/2 time at Edmunds Middle School; we are a shared campus! The ideal candidate will supply individualized instruction to students in the classroom and small group environments, and works with students who have diverse cultural backgrounds, learning needs and accommodation plans (IEPs, 504 plan and/or EST plans)

Edmunds Middle & Edmunds Elementary: This position is 1/2 time at Edmunds Elementary and 1/2 time at Edmunds Middle School; we are a shared campus!
Lyman C. Hunt Middle School:
A. SCOPE OF WORK:
Assisting SLPs with planning and providing speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders. Additionally, assessing students and providing therapeutic intervention to eliminate or reduce problems or impairments that interfere with students' ability to derive full benefit from the educational program. Implement speech and language programs or activities as planned and directed by speech-language pathologists. Monitor the use of alternative communication devices and systems. To facilitate and supplement the educational process under the direction of a professional staff member. Responsibilities include communication facilitation, hearing aid management, carrying out programs designed by the SLP, managing behavior, teaching self-regulation skills, and supporting & facilitating social engagement with peers. Physical responsibilities include lifting, carrying, personal care, and the ability to assess a situation and respond quickly.
