Director of Legal Services

Seeking a highly experienced attorney with experience in a variety of legal matters including but not limited to governmental and open meetings act; real estate law; contract; litigation; purchasing, procurement, and surplus; records management and public information act; master engineering agreements and other professional services agreements; and employment law.

• Under the direction of the General Manager, the Director of Legal Services provides legal counsel to the General Manager, Board of Directors, and staff.
• JD required, licensed to work in Texas, 10 years of experience
• Must have municipal background, experience with City, County, State Agency
• Knowledge of local government law, including governmental immunity and tort liability principles.
• Maintain working knowledge of acting and proposed state and federal legislation and requirements
• Familiar with Open Meetings Act, TX Public Information Act, EPA regulations
• Managing all disputes and litigation
• Prepare all legal documentation
• Oversee negotiations of all legal contracts
• Wants a fighter, not someone that wants to settle everything
