We are currently seeking a CAD Technical IIIto join our healthcare team in Orlando, Florida. 

Position Summary:

Experienced CAD operator performing technical drafting support for assigned projects. Works independently and can us CAD software to support Engineers by preparing layouts, detail drawings, and diagrams suitable for construction contract documents. Works productively as part of a team. Thorough understanding of drafting techniques and engineering terminology.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Uses computer aided design (CAD)/Revit) software to develop designs
  • Performing 3D coordination for clash detection between MEP for the electrical conduit routings and pathways with the model.

  • Revit Project Background Setup

  • General electrical device placement and layout based on verbal direction from designers/engineers.

  • Creates and modifies CAD/Revit files to reflect design
  • Computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages and other physical properties
  • Troubleshoot minor issues with CAD/Revit software
  • Create or use background files from sketches
  • Develop finished drawings from sketches
  • Responsible for setting up, maintaining, an organized file system for production drawings
  • Communicates with Project Manager, QA, Engineering and Contractors regarding new and revised prints
  • Provides plotted hard copies of drawings to Engineers, Designers and Clients
  • May collaborate with design team, Engineers and clients via telephone, email or in person
  • Maintains proficiency in latest software tools and standards while maintaining production rate of work to meet budget schedule
  • Identifies and complies with client CAD/Revit file standards or industry standard
  • Active participation in the Burns Quality Control/Quality Assurance program
  • Works in a team to meet project deadlines

Key Requirements/Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
