Burt Process is looking for an experienced Outside Sales Rep.
Territory is from Connecticut to Maine.
Applicants must live in MA or CT.
This role will be responsible for handling the outside sales duties for the manufactured products group while increasing sales and profitability. This role must represent Burt Process Equipment to clients in a diligent and professional manner in order to maintain and grow sales.
Essential Functions:
Secure sales and maximize profit for manufactured systems projects.
Support individual projects ranging from $100 to $1 million, with sales cycles ranging from 1 day to 5 years.
Track and secure projects from inception to closure.
Negotiate final sale price and payment terms for projects in an effort to maximize company profitability and achieve sales performance goals
Develop and execute annual sales plans, continually evaluate changes in the market and adjustment of activities/sales plan as warranted.
Develop relationships and schedule/execute meetings with engineering firms, contractors, and end users.
Full-scope sales responsibility - Travel to and meet with clients to determine their needs, gather details for their projects, write RFQs to send to design engineering team, present BPE’s proposal, follow-up/answer questions and finally securing the order.
Responsible for business development in their specified coverage area
Responsibly entertain clients (golf, dinners, lunches) in an effort to build strong bonds resulting in loyalty to Burt Process.
Develop marketing strategies and assets to convey Burt Process’ capabilities and core competencies to new d existing client base.
Schedule and execute lunch and learn for engineering clients to become their Basis of Design for future projects.
Schedule and market educational webinars for engineering client base.
Develop a travel strategy annually to maximize BPE’s global reach.
Evaluate, request participation, and exhibit at trade shows.
Secure and schedule speaking opportunities at industry events for design engineers.
Research new project opportunities.
Provide market feedback to management as well as sharing sales experience with colleagues.
Resolve customer complaints on timing deliverable (proposals, submittals, or equipment delivery).
Prepare for and attend sales meetings.
Work and utilize CRM packages too further promote sales efforts.
Maintain all paperwork (expense reports, PTO requests, etc.)
Knowledge & Skills:
Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships.
Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
Excellent selling, negotiation, and communication skills
Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
Excellent Written and Verbal Communication
Relationship Building
Team- oriented
Ability to close deals on a timely basis
Experience in contracting and construction a plus
Minimum Qualifications:
Must live in CT or MA
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
2-5 years of experience in outside sales
Proven experience in all aspects of sales (including projects, sales cycles, sales plans, etc.)
Knowledge of sales techniques
General familiarity with manufactured systems design/componentry.
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), CRM software
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 10 lbs. unaided
Must be able to sit for long periods of time
Must be able to type, bend and reach
Must be able to travel at least 50% of the time
Environment:
Typical professional, office setting.
Exposure to industrial conditions when visiting customers and touring their facilities.
Must be able to handle varying levels of stress.
Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, printers
