We are looking for a talented, motivated individual to join our company as a Part-Time Accountant, supporting the Controller. As a member of our accounting team, you will organize, analyze, and verify our various financial transactions and reports to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will also perform quarterly audits, assist with payroll activities, and approve business expense reports. This is a detail-oriented position that is vital to our daily operations. Our ideal candidate has at least an associate degree in accounting, excellent communication, organizational, and math skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions
- Update and maintain the general ledger
- Manage the order cycle
- Reconciliation of entries into the accounting system
- Recording of debits and credits
- Maintain the trial balance, by a reconciliation of general ledgers
- Account reconciliation to assert the accuracy of transactions
- Use knowledge of local laws to comply with reporting requirements
- Monitor any variances from the projected budget
Education, Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding accounting best practices
- Knowledge of accounting framework. GAAP knowledge is a plus
- Data entry skills
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Produce work with a high level of accuracy
- Professionalism and organization skills
- Associates degree preferred
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience
- Knowledge of accounting software applications; experience with QuickBooks Desktop a plus
