Business Control Systems is Hiring an Engineering Project Coordinator Near Southport, NC

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Project Coordinator to join our a dedicated team at our Nuclear Partners Southport plant. Reporting to the Supervisor of Planning and Scheduling, you will collaborate with Work Integration, Project Management, Project Controls, Implementation, Engineering, and Supply Chain organizations. Your mission: to facilitate the planning and execution of engineering change work orders for Nuclear Projects. This is a unique opportunity to develop advanced skills and work with greater independence in a highly specialized and impactful field.
Key Responsibilities
  • Engineering Change Management: Review engineering change packages, providing expert comments and feedback to responsible engineers for incorporation.
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret complex plant and design drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Material Coordination: Identify material requirements, perform material take-offs, and create material requests.
  • Field Walkdowns: Conduct detailed field walkdowns to gather critical supporting information for project planning.
  • Work Order Planning: Develop comprehensive work order instructions in accordance with engineering change packages, specifications, and procedures.
  • Support Work Order Tasks: Plan essential support tasks including scaffolding, insulation, painting, and temporary power.
  • Project Milestones: Take ownership of meeting T-week and Outage milestone due dates, ensuring timely project execution.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Attend and actively participate in project meetings, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Annual Work Plan Implementation: Facilitate the implementation of the annual work plan, consulting with stakeholders to set priorities and match work with resources efficiently.
  • Resource Optimization: Deliver cost-effective and efficient resource plans to the scheduling function, optimizing long-range implementation plans.
  • Monthly Work Plan Meetings: Initiate and conduct monthly work plan meetings to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Technical Background: Strong background in electrical/I&C or mechanical/civil disciplines.
  • Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • System Knowledge: Proficiency with work management systems (e.g., NAS, Passport, Reporting Services) and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Craft Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge in craft areas such as electrical, I&C, mechanical, and civil.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to function effectively in a diverse support organization.
