Job Title: Paratransit Supervisor

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Paratransit Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the paratransit services, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for individuals with disabilities and seniors. This role includes supervising drivers, managing schedules, handling customer service issues, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervision & Leadership:

- Supervise and provide guidance to paratransit drivers and support staff.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.

- Implement training programs for new hires and ongoing training for current employees.

- Address and resolve staff issues and conflicts promptly and effectively.

Operations Management:

- Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of paratransit vehicles.

- Monitor daily operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to schedules.

- Manage route planning and adjustments to meet service demands.

- Ensure vehicles are properly maintained and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and servicing.

Customer Service:

- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues with professionalism and empathy.

- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective service delivery.

- Conduct regular surveys and feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement.

Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to paratransit services.

- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.

- Conduct safety and compliance audits regularly.

- Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions.

Administrative Duties:

- Maintain accurate records of operations, staff schedules, and maintenance logs.

- Prepare and submit regular reports on service performance, incidents, and other key metrics.

- Assist in budget preparation and management.

- Collaborate with other departments to improve service delivery and resolve operational issues.

Qualifications:

Education:

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in paratransit or transportation services.

- At least 1 year of supervisory or management experience.

Skills:

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

- Proficiency in using transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Certifications:

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Working Conditions:

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- May require working outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends.

- Regularly required to travel within the service area.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
