The Butler Eagle, a family-owned news organization in Western Pennsylvania located just outside Pittsburgh, is seeking an experienced writer/reporter to tell the stories of our residents, be their eyes at government meetings, cover crime and courts, feature local happenings, and seek out the news that will make a difference in their lives.

This is a full-time on-site role for a Reporter at Butler Eagle. As a Reporter, your day-to-day tasks will include gathering news information, conducting interviews, writing news articles, and creating multimedia content. You will be responsible for covering various topics and events in Butler County and the surrounding areas.

This journalist will join a staff of eight writers and be a force in molding what news is presented in print, on social media platforms and the Eagle website. In addition to being a wordsmith, the position requires strong people skills, an ability to research topics, a social media awareness and the willing to try mediums as the Eagle develops its video, audio and photographic platforms.

• Experience in the newspaper industry is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
