Position Summary: 

Responsible for loading/unloading of commodities. Operates equipment to manufacture finished feed including batching, pelleting and grinding. Assures operations meet production requirements and quality specifications. Performs routine and emergency repair work to equipment and machinery.

Essential Duties, Functions and responsibilities:

Perform all duties in a safe manner consistent with company Policy and Procedures and safety training.

Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.

Monitor inventories of ingredients and finished feed, as required.

Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas consistent with Good Manufacturing Practices.

Perform general labor duties as assigned by management.

Collect all required samples as defined in Quality Control Guidelines and Standards and Operating Procedures.

Perform all required testing as set forth in the Standard Operating Procedures.

Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation.

Must be flexible to replace any operator and perform duties in the same manner and meet the same job requirements for the job performed.

Operate equipment, automatically or manually, via computer automation consisted with procedures.

Perform all job functions consistent with Good Manufacturing Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and Quality Control Guidelines.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Must attend scheduled safety meetings and other training meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be task oriented and a self-starter with the ability to follow detailed instructions.

Must have the ability to handle paperwork with accuracy.

Ability to operate a forklift, tractor and shuttle wagon.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to swing sledgehammer and carry 50lbs ingredient bags.

Ability to work at heights and climb ladders.

Ability to work in confined spaces.

Ability to work in hot and cold environments.

Must be able to climb steps and trailers frequently.

Working Conditions/Department Description:

Exposure to wet, humid, and dusty conditions and moving mechanical parts.

Occasionally exposed to high precarious places, extreme cold and heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration.

Exposure to very loud noise level.
