    Classification: Teacher Salary Schedule and Calendar (approximately 187 days worked per year)

    Job Summary:

    The Early Childhood Program Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing the delivery of early learning programs under the guidance of the Director of Community Education. This role involves planning, promoting, implementing, and evaluating a variety of early childhood programs to support the educational vision and philosophy of the district.

    Qualifications:

    • Evidence of a current Minnesota teaching license in Early Childhood or Parent Education.
    • Evidence of previous successful leadership or supervisory experience.
    • Evidence of a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
    • Evidence of an excellent record of past performance applicable to the duties of the position.
    • Evidence of excellent communication and human relations skills.
    • Evidence of excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and group facilitation skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Program Management:
      • Plan, promote, implement, evaluate, and maintain early learning programs such as Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE), Byron Preschool, Parent Education, School Readiness, and Early Childhood Screening.
      • Determine weekly classes, classroom assignments, and staffing.
      • Establish program guidelines and procedures.
      • Coordinate early childhood screening and parent education classes.
      • Collaborate on Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) programming.
      • Ensure smooth student transitions to K-2 programs.
      • Oversee ECFE, Byron Preschool, Parent Education, School Readiness, and Screening programs and staff.
      • Train, mentor, and assign licensed and non-licensed employees with the support of the Community Education Director.
      • Provide professional development opportunities.
      • Facilitate staff meetings and training sessions and support Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
      • Manage fiscal affairs related to early childhood programs in collaboration with the Community Education Director.
      • Prepare reports for the Minnesota Department of Education.
      • Coordinate with the Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department on curriculum development and instructional programming.
      • Organize the Early Childhood Advisory Council for community feedback.
      • Assist in creating and distributing program catalogs and promotional materials.
      • Ensure compliance with Minnesota Statutes and district policies.
    • Further Job Expectations:
      • Budgeting and Finance:
        • Create and maintain a budget, including knowledge of ECFE restricted/separate accounts for all funds.
        • Fundraising and grant management.
      • Coordination and Collaboration:
        • Collaborate with other district programs.
        • Coordinate with community agencies to maximize resources and reduce duplication of services.
        • Promote family involvement and engagement, including parent advisory councils.
        • Stay current with MDE communications and changes in statutes.
      • Data Collection and Systems:
        • Manage census data and coordinate with the school district’s MARSS coordinator.
        • Collect and ensure compliance with immunizations.
        • Complete ECFE Reporting and Community Needs Assessment through MDE.
      • Leadership:
        • Develop program goals and strategic plans with the Community Education Director.
        • Participate in Community Education leadership teams.
      • Outreach and Public Relations:
        • Develop relationships with human service providers, child care providers, and early childhood professionals.
        • Engage in marketing and outreach with support from the Community Education Marketing Coordinator.
      • Program Development and Management:
        • Screen and refer students.
        • Implement staff training in First Aid, CPR, and other district safety measures.
        • Design, implement, and monitor programs, services, and classes.
        • Manage registration systems, including online registration and payment systems.
      • Staff Development:
        • Promote and support staff professional development.
      • Management of Programs and Services:
        • Oversee the home visiting program.
      • Management of Staff:
        • Assist in hiring licensed and non-licensed staff.
        • Organize staff meetings and mentor staff.
