Medical Office Front Desk Receptionist

Our medical office in Northwest Indiana is dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care possible.

We are looking for a Medical Office Front Desk Receptionist-Scribe who will be responsible for checking in, registering, and scheduling patients in a friendly and professional manner as well as document physician-patient encounters quickly and accurately.

The ideal Front Desk Receptionist-Scribe will be able to work along other receptionists & staff as part of a team to support the physician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Check-in patients in a polite, prompt, helpful manner and ensure efficient transfer of care to other staff members and/or the physician as appropriate.

· Answer multi-line telephone and direct calls appropriately.

· Obtain and enter patient demographics and insurance information in medical practice management software on a computer.

· Schedule and verify insurance eligibility over the phone and online.

· Collect co-pays and receive payments from patients for medical services.

• Speak and interact with patients to obtain necessary patient health information and problems to be shared with the physician.

• Document physician-patient encounters via Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Qualifications:

· Prior medical work related experience NOT required.

· Honesty and a strong work ethic required.

· Exceptional Interpersonal and communications skills required.​

· Outstanding Customer Relations and Customer Service required.

· High school graduate or GED.

· Outstanding listening skills and ability to empathize with others.

· Appropriate sense of discretion in dealing with varied and difficult situations.

· Ability to convey a positive attitude in all dealings with others, whether patients, staff members or the physician.

· Exceptional personal organizational skills.

· Attention to detail.

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule:

· Competitive hourly salary

· Paid training provided

· Part Time position with possibility for Full Time position based on performance

· No weekends
