Pay: $26-$36 DOE, license type, and years licensed.

Sign-on bonus: **$10,000**

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. On-call once a week on a rotating schedule

Job Summary:

We are a long-term care facility seeking a skilled and compassionate Wound Care Nurse to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The Wound Care Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating wound care treatments for residents with chronic and acute wounds. The role involves close collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal wound healing and prevention of wound-related complications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of residents’ wounds, including measurement, description, and staging
  • Develop and implement individualized wound care plans based on current clinical guidelines and best practices
  • Administer appropriate wound treatments, including dressing changes, debridement, and application of topical medications
  • Monitor and document residents’ progress and response to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on wound care techniques and prevention strategies
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to wound care
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) programs

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN or LPN)
  • Current and valid nursing license in the state of Alabama (RN or LPN). (Required)
  • Minimum of 1 year of wound care experience required, preferably in a long-term care setting (Required)
  • Certification in wound care (WCC, CWOCN, or equivalent) preferred
  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Strong clinical skills with a focus on wound care management
  • Ability to work independently, and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
