C Spire is Hiring an UX Developer (I, II, III) Near Ridgeland, MS

Overview

*This position is available as an UX Developer I, UX Developer II, or UX Developer III, depending on experience.*

Work alongside the Content Specialists, Software Developers, and Systems Analysts of the Web Applications & Operations team. He or she will be responsible for weekly design updates to the company .com pages, brainstorming creative concepts with the team, developing original interaction/visual design concepts, executing designs based on established style guides, participating in design presentations, and performing the front-end development of the design for production.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for UX design and optimization of Company .com pages, mobile, and other interactive experiences. Ensure that front end developers receive support in translating design into developed web pages. Serve as liaison for coordinating back-end development, as needed.
  • Adhere to the Company brand platform as well as the marketing plan for both Consumer and Enterprise brands. Create leading-edge design explorations, mock-ups, visual components, and style guides.
  • Responsible for keeping the company’s web and mobile web properties updated, fresh & accurate, with content reflecting brand strategies and initiatives. Includes the timely addition and removal of promotional items, press releases and products.
  • Engage with development to understand platform capabilities, communicate design specifications, support agile development, and verify design implementations.
  • Work with cross functional teams to understand user needs, business needs, branding, and interface platforms. Possess familiarity with or demonstrate the ability to learn the C Spire business processes and interactive environment. This includes environments, tools, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications

  • UX Developer I
    • REQUIRED
      • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline in design, Human-Computer Interaction, information systems, or computer science or equivalent professional experience required.
      • 1-3 years direct experience in web or UX design required.
      • Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the interactive design field is required.
      • 1-3 years’ experience in standard UX software such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, and the like is a must.
      • Understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation required.
      • Ability to translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
      • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, usability, and accessibility concerns.
      • Ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to cross-functional teams and demo, present and lead meetings for executive stakeholders.
      • Additional preferred skills include strong written, verbal and organization skills; excellent planning and execution, with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and proofreading, editing, layout, design, and interactive production.
      • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
      • Basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets required.
    • PREFERRED
      • Basic HTML5 and CSS3, skills are a plus.
  • UX Developer II
    • REQUIRED
      • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline in design, Human-Computer Interaction, information systems, or computer science or equivalent professional experience required.
      • 3-5 years direct experience in web or UX design required.
      • Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the interactive design field is required.
      • 3-5 years’ experience in standard UX software such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision and the like is a must.
      • Understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation required.
      • Some experience in mobile app design for both IOS and Android.
      • Ability to translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
      • Ability to make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to existing, and new, functions and features.
      • A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability, and accessibility concerns.
      • Ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to cross-functional teams and demo, present and lead meetings for executive stakeholders.
      • Additional preferred skills include strong written, verbal and organization skills; excellent planning and execution, with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; and proofreading, editing, layout, design, and interactive production.
      • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
      • Basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets required.
    • PREFERRED

  • UX Developer III
    • REQUIRED
      • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline in design, Human-Computer Interaction, information systems, or computer science or equivalent professional experience required.
      • A minimum of 5 years direct experience in web or UX design required.
      • Extensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the interactive design field is required.
      • 5 years’ experience in standard UX software such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, InVision and the like is a must.
      • Basic HTML5 and CSS3, skills are required.
      • Strong understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation required.
      • Experience in mobile app design for both IOS and Android.
      • Strong ability to translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
      • Ability to make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to existing, and new, functions and features.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be able to sit for long periods and use computer keyboard and/or mouse while viewing computer screen. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule shared by other department members.
