WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Provides direct patient care, including rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, administering vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, point of care testing, medication reconciliation, starting IVs, triage, assisting with procedures and conducting rounds with providers. Completes and appropriately documents patient tests: Pulmonary Function Tests audiometric testing, EKG testing, functional ability testing and respiratory fit testing. Performs splinting and casting, eye staining and suturing. Performs Point of Care (POC) testing, interprets the results to guide care. Collects and properly documents DOT and non-DOT Drug Screens Chain-of-Custody. Performs breath alcohol testing in accordance with policy and Federal Regulations. Complete DME application and Gait Training. Works with other departments and providers to ensure referrals, insurance verification/authorization is obtained prior to patient appointment. Simultaneously utilizes three EMR systems: Agility, EPIC Urgent Care and Epic Ambulatory. Proficient in utilizing third party occupational health platforms including Escreen and FormFox for scheduling and completing occupational health services. Enters lab results and data into the EMR. Enters DOT physicals into the National Registry. Registers patients for services and collects all information required to validate identity and bill for services. Directs patients and visitors in an efficient and professional manner. Handles telephone communication effectively, makes patient appointments, confirms, and updates patient information in the electronic medical record, maintains department records and logs as requested. Assists in Agility daily Recon reports. Verifies insurance information and updates EMR as appropriate. Coordinates with verification/authorization team, providers, and clinical team to validate appropriate referrals and authorizations are obtained prior to treatment. Initiates and follows through on prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills. Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends and families.
