D365 F&O Finance BA

Location: St Paul, MN (Onsite 1-2 days a week) OR This is open to Denver/Aurora, CO area now.

The company is currently in the process of integrating five separate legacy ERP systems into a single ERP platform, Microsoft Dynamics D365. As a Sr. Business Systems Analyst specializing in accounting operations and proficient in Microsoft Dynamics 365, this position will play a pivotal role in leading the Finance workstream to optimize financial processes, streamline workflows, and ensure accurate reporting within the organization.

• Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Process Analysis: Conduct a thorough analysis of existing accounting workflows and collaborate with stakeholders to understand their process and requirements and identify areas for improvement.
• System Configuration and Customization: Using prior expertise in D365, configure and customize the system to meet accounting requirements; implement changes to workflows, reports, and dashboards; and implement system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
• Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Elicit and document detailed business requirements from accounting stakeholders, translate into functional specifications for system configuration and development, and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configuration, customization, and integrations.
• User Training and Support: Develop and deliver training materials and sessions to educate accounting staff on system functionality and best practices and provide ongoing support to users by troubleshooting issues and acting as a liaison for issue resolution and system enhancements.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Extract and analyze accounting data from D365 to support financial reporting and decision-making, develop and maintain standard reports and dashboards for accounting stakeholders, and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement by analyzing data.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to internal controls within accounting processes implemented in D365, identify and mitigate risks, and support internal and external audits with documentation and explanations of system configuration and process.
• Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Information Technology or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of experience in a business systems analyst or similar role, with a focus on accounting operations, preferably with a process manufacturer, specifically in Microsoft D365 surrounding the following core business processes: Recording to Reporting, Acquire to Dispose (Capital project accounting), Invoice to Cash, Invoice to Payment, Tax, Consolidation and Eliminations, Foreign Currency Management, Hire to Retire
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with data analysis tools and reporting techniques with deep understanding of Microsoft Excel
• Experience working in a multinational or multi-entity accounting environment.
• Familiarity with other Microsoft technologies such as Power BI, Power Automate, and Azure services.
• Project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP, Agile).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
