Job Description And DutiesThis position is limited term 12 months; may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.Under the general supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor), the Accountant I (Specialist) performs semiprofessional accounting work in the maintenance of inmate financial records and associated accounts. Essential duties can be reassigned for the well-being and efficient operation of the Accounting Department and the Institution.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) is located in the foothills near Jamestown, California, in the heart of the Mother Lode Gold Country.It is adjacent to the Stanislaus National Forest, offering pine trees, mountain streams, and an abundance of recreational activities (fishing, swimming, camping, skiing, golfing, etc.).The prison is approximately 70 miles from Yosemite National Park.
The primary mission of SCC is to provide housing, programs and services for minimum and medium custody inmates, to aid in their rehabilitation. SCC is responsible for the training and placement of male inmates in the Conservation Camp Program. SCC administers 31 male camps located across California.

Pursuant to the Public Health Orders ( Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings and State and Local Correctional Facilities and Detention Centers Health Care Worker Vaccination Requirement ) issued by the California Department of Public Health and the directive Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccines and Testing for Institution Staff issued by the Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CDCR), all staff assigned to this post/position may be required to show evidence of full vaccination and booster for COVID-19, absent an approved reasonable medical or religious accommodation precluding them from vaccination.
