CA Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation is Hiring a Chief Engineer Near San Bernardino, CA

Job Description And DutiesResponsible for maintaining a safe and efficient Boiler Plant. This includes scheduling Stationary Engineers to provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to operate, maintain and repair the high pressure steam boilers and auxiliary equipment. In addition, the Chief Engineer shall ensure that an effective water treatment program is implemented and maintained, and that all operating permits are maintained in accordance with the California Code of Regulations, Division of Industrial Safety (Title 8), as well as local air quality regulations.
The Chief Engineer is also responsible for the efficient operation of all heating and air conditioning systems, mechanical doors, gates, and ventilation equipment located throughout the institution. Will be contract liaison with contracts assigned to Plant Operations. As contract liaison you will ensure records are up to date, expenditures are accurately tracked to prevent unauthorized transactions, and no work is preformed outside the scope of the contract. Will conduct weekly inspections and document those on the Shop Inspection Checklist.

Until 1987, CIW was California's only prison for female felons. It was originally called "Frontera," a feminine derivative of the word frontier - a new beginning. The campus-like design was in keeping with the 1950's progressive notion of rehabilitation.
The primary mission of the California Institution for Women is to provide a safe and secure environment for primarily Level I/III female offenders.
