CA Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation is Hiring a Correctional Sergeant Near Monterey, CA

Job Description And DutiesUnder the general supervision of the Correctional Lieutenant, the Correctional Sergeant is responsible for the supervision of the Correctional Officers assigned to this work location. Responsible for taking appropriate action during an emergency and to complete work assignments as necessary.
Maintain custody in accordance with prescribed procedures, maintain order and discipline of subordinate staff, follow orders and direction from the immediate Correctional Lieutenant or Captain.
Ensure subordinate staff review, understand and follow their approved post orders. Know, understand and follow approved post orders. Check for any American Correctional Association (ACA) or standards violations and make necessary corrections and ensure subordinate staff follow appropriate protocols.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement .
