The Medical Emergency Team (MET) Nurse has the responsibility and accountability for responding to calls and critical situations or concerns on all non-critical care and emergency units. The MET Nurse will utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to delegate, coordinate and provide safe, therapeutic nursing care to patients/families. This individual makes independent judgments/decisions and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient issues, operating under guidelines of the Adult MET Protocols.
Requirements:EDUCATION: Graduate of an approved School of Nursing and licensed as required by the West Virginia State Board of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE: 2 years of Intensive Care Unit Experience.
SKILLS: Knowledge of current nursing procedures. BCLS, ACLS and PALS required. Nursing Specialty Certification – Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) – Preferred. Must obtain certification within 18 months of hire date to the MET.
