Job Description

Cabinetworks Group has a multi-site Manufacturing Engineering Manager position available. The successful candidate will ideally reside near Culver, IN or Waconia, MN, and will support those two plant locations, as well as plants in Aurora, CO and Independence, OR.

JOB SUMMARY:

Manage large and small scale manufacturing projects within Plants for both ongoing support and new product development. Evaluates, designs and implements manufacturing processes and equipment. Supports network of plants with CMMS, Facility, and Engineering core competencies by coaching and mentoring key facility management and engineering personnel.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate, develop and implement manufacturing process improvements and equipment installations
  • Manage large and small scale manufacturing projects to include project timelines, capital requests and budget responsibility
  • Lead new equipment specification, selection, purchase and support on-site installation
  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementation of new processes and process changes
  • Provide support to manufacturing operations including new product introductions, cost savings analysis, quality initiatives, and compliance initiatives
  • Continuous improve the reliability of the facilities and equipment including operating cost reductions
  • Provide engineering support to plant as needed and ensure day-to-day maintenance of equipment and facility
  • Ensure equipment satisfies internal and external requirements for safe operation
  • Lead collaborative discussion between leadership and key stakeholders to determine equipment future capabilities and goals
  • Support future Automation goals and objectives where needed

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing/Industrial, Electrical, or other engineering discipline. Five (5) years of manufacturing engineering experience in make-to or engineered-to-order environment
  • Sound knowledge of Manufacturing Electrical and Mechanical Systems
  • Demonstrated capabilities in tooling and fixture design, error proofing, and work balancing desirable
  • Hands on knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to support smooth flow, standardized work, and waste elimination
  • Competency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent project management and budgeting skills with a deadline orientation and focus
  • Ability to travel up to 30% including international

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience in automated control systems, including but not limited to design and programming PLCs and HMIs
  • CNC programming knowledge and/or experience
  • Knowledge and experience of material science specific to wood sciences, wood coatings and adhesives
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification or comparable problem solving certification
