Job SummaryLead and manage large and small scale manufacturing projects to support the plant and new product development. Evaluates, designs and implements manufacturing processes and equipment. Support other engineering projects as required.Principal Functional Responsibilities
  • Provide support to manufacturing operations including new product introductions, cost savings analysis, quality initiatives, compliance initiative, and other.
  • Evaluate, develop and implement manufacturing process and equipment.
  • Lead new equipment purchase and support on-site installation.
  • Lead new product development project teams at plant through implementation.
  • Resolve any issues that arise during product development and daily manufacturing.
  • Create or maintain CAD Models/Drawings as required.
  • Manage large and small scale manufacturing projects to include project timelines, capital requests and budget responsibility.
  • Lead and/or assist in design/automation improvements to existing machines & processes, and clean sheet design of new machines and/or processes. Use of Lean Manufacturing concepts is essential.
  • Lead and participate in Kaizen events, value steam mapping, capacity modeling, and other activities to improve overall plant performance.
Essential Qualifications And Skills
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or related field required.
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a track record of implementing successful lean improvement projects is required.
  • Excellent project management skills including leading cross-functional teams.
  • Manufacturing process and new product development experience.
  • Capable of walking continuously on the shop floor
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.
  • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
  • CNC programming knowledge and/or experience.
  • Experience in Woodworking or the Furniture Industry.
  • Lean and 6 Sigma experience.
