CABRINI OF WESTCHESTER is Hiring a RN Manager Near Dobbs Ferry, NY

It is the responsibility of the Nurse Manager to provide leadership and act as a role model for all personnel in the planning and delivery of resident care. The Nurse Manager works with the nursing staff to plan, give and evaluate nursing care based upon the needs and responses of the resident. The Nurse Manager arranges with other departments and agencies to provide coordinated services to residents. The Nurse Manager must lead by example.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports and promotes the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the Department of Nursing.
  • Ensures communication between shifts to promote continuity of resident care.
  • Communicates with other disciplines to coordinate the nursing care plan.
  • Supervises and evaluate the nursing care plan and all clinical functions on unit.
  • Round on residents daily.
  • Ensures that documentation for all newly admitted or re-admitted residents are completed timely as per policy.
  • Ensures that Care Plans are current.
  • Adheres to assignment and schedules set forth by Assistant Director Nursing.
  • Ensures the documentation are current and accurate for MDS and reimbursement purposes.
  • Investigates thoroughly all incident/accident, allegations of abuse, neglect or mistreatment and submits reports in a timely manner to the Assistant Director of Nursing.
  • Work closely with Attending Physicians as the leader of the team, to ensure that residents receive optimal care and treatment.
  • Participates in Wound Rounds and ensure that all investigations relating to Pressure Ulcers are completed.
  • Works with Nursing Supervisors to ensure follow through on procedures, incidents, accidents, Pharmacy review issues etc.
  • Knows current condition and progress of all patients on unit.
  • Actively participates in departmental meetings, Morning Report and other meetings as necessary.
  • Coordinates facility wide nursing staffing function as assigned and adheres to budgeted staffing complement.
  • Will seek authorization for any change in budgeted staffing complement.
  • Coordinates unit activities and personnel assignment regarding care of the residents.
  • Evaluates the performance of nursing personnel on the unit including attendance reviews and exact disciplinary action as needed
  • Provides leadership in unit conferences, Utilization Review, Resident Care/ Clinical Conferences,
  • Assists in the development and revision of Nursing Department Policies & Procedures
  • Promotes good public relations.
  • Participates in and/or deliver approved in-service programs to include competency evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled nursing meetings for problem solving and information exchange and submits agenda and minutes to Nursing Administration. Ensures that each shift is met with at least once per month.
  • Conduct audit of clinical documentation and services to ensure accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Shares responsibility for participating in nursing organization committees.
  • Participates in the Surveillance, Prevention, and control of infection by adhering to and ensuring compliance of staff using the Infection Control Policies & Procedures as a resource.
  • Performs clearly unrelated tasks as assigned.PHYSICAL/COMPETENCY DEMANDS

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write in a manner that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • B.S. N. – M.S. in Nursing preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a supervisory capacity in an acute or sub-acute care setting.

  • Knowledge of and experience with Federal and State requirements
  • Experience with labor unions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 per year
