Job Description

Job Description

CABVI is seeking a Full time Licensed Social Worker to Provide a full range of psychological assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic mental health services for individuals. They will Develop and direct support group sessions.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collect consumer data through review of case history, staff consultation, interview and/or psychological testing.
  • Select appropriate treatment plan based on sound social work practice and medical plan guidelines.
  • Deliver individual and group in-person counseling and support groups, applying therapeutic treatment interventions to both individuals and family members.
  • Review reliability and validity of treatment modalities; ensure QA/HIPAA compliance.
  • Consult with related professionals and refers as clinically necessary.
  • Present social work-related programs to staff.
  • Remain current in profession through continuing education.
  • As part of the Rehabilitation team, actively participate in rehabilitation youth and adult development activities including adaptive sports and recreation.
  • Adapts to change and completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Consistently achieves annual performance objectives.

Requirements Include:

  • Master’s degree in social work (MSW), NY State LSW and a minimum of three years post LCSW supervised experience required; 5 years or more full-time experience preferred. Experienced with visually impaired population a plus.
  • Must have ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from children, parents, professionals, and the general public. Must have ability to develop the consumer’s confidence and self-esteem.
  • Must be comfortable presenting to groups.
  • Requires excellent listening skills.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams as well as apps such as Zoom.
  • Must meet the Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped, Department of Special Education and the Department of Health personnel standards
