Program execution follows DEVOPS best practices and employs robust development, test and production environments. The Database Engineer maintains the integrity, security and availability of multiple databases. She/he provides technical expertise for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis. She/he develops requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for a particular business and Information Technology (IT) subject matter area (i.e., simple to complex systems). Assist with recommendations for, and analysis and evaluation of systems improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts. Database administrators with experience that includes Netezza, Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL, RDF.More About the Role:a) Supports data administration technical function for both data warehouse development and maintenance b) Facilitates change control, problem management, and communication among data architects, programmers, analysts, and engineers c) Analyzes and identifies data and metadata requirements d) Defines user requirements and database design specifications. e) Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware f) Prepares/implements data verification and testing methods. g) Responsible for developing a database structure that fits into the overall architecture of the system under development and has to make trades among data volumes, number of users, logical and physical distribution, response times, retention rules, security and domain controls. h) Develops relational and/or object-oriented databases, database parser software, and database loading software. Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design. i) Translates a set of requirements and data into a usable document by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts, and macros; updates existing queries, creates new ones to manipulate data into a master file; and builds complex systems using queries, tables, Open Database Connectivity and database storage and retrieval using Cloud methodologies. You’ll Bring These Qualifications:• Significant experience developing databases for and interacting with cloud environments. • Significant experience reading and developing solutions to customer requirements.• Significant experience analyzing and identifying data and metadata requirements• Significant experience defining user requirements and database design specifications• Must have a good understanding of databases, primarily Oracle and/or other relational and non-relational databases that includes Netezza, Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL and RDF. Candidate must be a US Citizen. Candidate must have a MA/MS degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
