Job Description:

The Opportunity:

• Under direct supervision, the system administrator is responsible for assisting the security team with the administration and support of information systems and security procedures for customer systems and networks supporting multiple programs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.

• Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.

• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for client/server/backup storage/network devices

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problem.

• Provide support to the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.

• Installs, configures, and updates antivirus engines and malware protection signatures.

• Installs/loads operating system, new firmware and software releases, systems upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.

• Isolate and resolve hardware, firmware, and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, and the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof.

• Troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

• Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.

• Basic network device configuration and implementation understanding.

Qualifications:
Required: 

• Typically has a Bachelor’s degree or Associates/Vocational/Technical education or equivalent work experience.

• Troubleshooting skills

• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures

• Understanding of change and configuration management practices

• Position requires a TOP Secret clearance.

Desired:

• Basic Windows OS experience

• Strong written and oral communications skills

• Ability to work both independently and with a team to solve problems

• Initiative to quickly learn and put new skills to use.

• Security (or obtainable within 6 months of hiring date).
