Operations and Supply Chain Amarillo, TX ID: 897-357 Full-Time/Regular POSITION OBJECTIVE: Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor has supervisory responsibility for all operational related functions within the facility. This position works through the leads in establishing plant programs and enforcing plant policies. Emphasis on creating and sustaining a team environment by setting expectations and following through with floor audits and feedback to teams. SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure employees have a safe working environment and use proper protective equipment.
Communicates closely with Supervisor on performance issues, procedures, and policies to insure overall consistency.
Provide immediate feedback and consistent performance reinforcement to employees on a daily basis.
Holds subordinates accountable for performance.
Participate in employee evaluations (Quarterly feedback sessions, annual appraisals, and new hire reviews).
Provide recommendations, drafts and/or outlines for disciplinary action and any other non-exempt staff documentation.
Conduct monthly ISO/tailgate/safety meetings.
Manage employee attendance to ensure compliance with Company standards; approve/monitor overtime
Assign employee breaks and lunches and ensures appropriate coverage.
Oversee Attendance & Punctuality compliance of team. Accurately complete needed Personal Action Forms when necessary and submit on time.
Develops team and individual performance plans in alignment with Dept., Division & Company goals and objectives; communicates clearly defined individual and group objectives.
Use Management by Objective (MBO) methods to set and achieve KPI’s and Team goals
Duties/Essential Job Functions
Establishes and communicates quality improvement objectives and appropriately recognizes quality goals.
Establishes and communicates productivity goals.
Monitors and provides input to housekeeping and safety.
Identifies potential areas for improvement by department and sets improvement objectives.
Provides planning and support to strategic initiatives.
Secures resources for Plant Manager in order to meet quality and productivity goals.
Establishes and maintains a Standard Work Program in order to minimize variability due to personnel.
Establishes and maintains a formal communication plan that improves communication between shifts and with support departments.
Provides resources for problem solving initiatives.
Primary liaison for regulatory contacts.
Coordinates vacation planning for employees.
Communicates policy changes and expected behavior. Monitors compliance to policies.

Required ExperiencePOSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Dairy Science, or related field or equivalent work experience a plus.
5 years of progressive management experience in a cultured diary manufacturing plant
Processing knowledge in areas such as, but not limited to: HTST, Ultra Filtration and Reverse Osmosis.
Strong understanding of product parameters and the ability to adjust have product within spec.
Technical knowledge of cheese and/or cultured dairy manufacturing
Strong leadership skills and team development
Ability to identify areas for continuous improvement
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Flexible schedule to accommodate for a 24/7 Production Facility.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
