Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is Hiring a Press Brake Set-up/Operator Near Chaska, MN

DescriptionOVERVIEWCadrex is searching for a Press Brake Set Up/Operator to perform a variety of duties to set-up and adjust press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal according to specifications. This role requires technical expertise in press brake operations, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a commitment to quality, and a focus on safety.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate press brake machines to perform sheet metal bending and forming operations according to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Select, position, and align dies, punches, and tooling in the machine to achieve desired bends and shapes
  • Adjust machine settings, including ram stroke, back gauge positions, and pressure settings, to ensure accurate bends and high-quality output
  • Conduct test runs and inspect sample workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, making necessary adjustments to tooling or machine settings
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine job requirements and sequence of operations
  • Maintain and perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, ensuring they are in good working condition
  • Monitor machine operations and troubleshoot issues to prevent downtime and ensure smooth production flow
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures
  • Document production activities, including setup times, production quantities, and quality control data
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to improve production processes and achieve company goals
RequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of press brake operations, tooling setup, and machine adjustments
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift materials and tooling as required
EDUCATION
  • High School diploma.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
