Overview:

Seeking a Engineering Technician for an exciting opportunity with the MMIC Design Center organization under CAES Defense Systems, located in either our Richardson, TX or Forsyth, MO locations! The MMIC Design Center is comprised of a team of 20 MMIC and Packaging Designers creating advanced RF solutions for internal and external customers. The Center has PMO, test and test support engineering to convert designs into delivered products as well as systems expertise to support customer architectures and trade studies also enabling CAES capabilities at board and sub-array levels. Perform set-up, calibration, and perform RF measurements on Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMIC); assist in preparing technical documents such as test plans, assembly drawings, prepare bill of materials; test and troubleshoots RF/Analog circuits and/or assemblies; perform IC testing on a semi-automated probe station; perform RF characterization by measuring S-parameters, single tone power, and two-tone power measurements on MMIC assemblies. Perform various tasks in a laboratory including test, visual inspection and shipping; extensive work performed under a microscope.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:
  • Perform on-wafer testing on MMIC power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, and signal control MMICs using a vector network analyzer.
  • Ability to perform minor re-work on prototype microwave assemblies; handling die, wire-bonding, working with solder, epoxies and other assembly-related materials. Requires working under a microscope.
  • Preparing drawings and technical documents to include: statistical analysis reports, generating test plans, assembly drawings, and product datasheets
  • Support Engineering and production staff in the test, visual inspection of die, and product shipment.
  • Obtain quotes from vendors, lead procurement, and assist with inventory and asset management
Qualifications:
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of experience testing and/or troubleshooting of electronic circuits in a laboratory environment working with power supplies, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
  • Working with micro-electronics components requires some use of working under a microscope and excellent hand/finger dexterity.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export law. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Certificate in Electronics Technology, Associate’s degree in Electronics or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of RF test experience using power meters, spectrum analyzers, and RF signal sources
  • Experience using vector network analyzers (PNA/VNA)
  • Advanced soldering techniques training
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiar with using CAD tools such as AutoCAD of Gerber Viewers
  • DoD work experience


Salary Range: $25 - $35 hourly
(Richardson, TX).

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base bay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
