POSITION DESCRIPTION
PROGRAM MANAGER
Reports To: Senior Manager of Program Management
Management Responsibility: Commercial/Revenue Requirements, Program Launch,
Customer Build Schedule, Coordinate RFQ Activity and other Company/Customer
Requirements
Educational Requirements: Associates/Bachelors degree in Business or a Technical discipline is required. Program management certification (IPC or PMP) is a plus.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Program, Project or Product Management experience.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the Program Management staff reporting to the Sr. Manager of Program Management, this position is responsible for business development and customer satisfaction as the primary point of contact for all company/client information exchange.
As their client’s “Champion”, Program Managers are responsible for understanding and managing the program needs and perceptions of the client and effectively coordinating and facilitating activities throughout the Cal-Comp organization to satisfy client expectations.
Key Result Areas
1. Customer Program Management a. Primary point of contact with the Customer for all business information exchange. b. Responsible for conducting monthly “state of the business” reviews and quarterly face to face customer reviews with appropriate business team members. c. In charge of developing and coordinating schedules and programs with customers and cross functional departments to ensure product quality and timely delivery. d. Accountable for managing and coordinating contract review, bills of material review, and quotation activities with functional departments for new products, product enhancements, and product re-designs.
2. Business Management a. Responsible for managing cost improvement programs aimed at maximizing gross profit margin for existing customer programs. b. Provide support to the Sales organization to develop programs designed to increase sales in existing customer accounts. c. Assist Finance, Sales and Purchasing in the development and implementation of strategic pricing initiatives and proposals. d. Manage the Quotation Process – Review, dissemination, processing, development and delivery in collaboration with the Sales organization.
e. Develop and maintain rolling product forecasts for manufacturing and materials management to more effectively manage capacity, backlog, and inventory issues.
3. Personnel Management a. Manage and coach Quotation Coordinates by focusing their efforts on timely cost effective quotations.
