Summary/Objectives

The Staff Accountant ensures timely and accurate completion of day-today general accounting tasks. Responsible to perform accounting duties such as financial statement preparation, account analysis, analytical report preparation and other duties as assigned. This position requires a high degree of attention to details.

Responsibilities

· Performs month-end close process, journal entries, accruals

· Analyzes financial information and by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information

· Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements and analyzing information from the general ledger system

· Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data

· Maintain fixed assets; book monthly depreciation, ensure proper recording of new purchases and disposals and develop amortization schedules

· Prepares balance sheet reconciliations, multiple bank reconciliations and credit card payable accounts

· Maintain weekly Cashflow forecasting

· Oversee weekly check runs and AR collections

· Provide support and backup to AP/AR functions where applicable

· Calculate piece rate commissions and assist with payroll

· Secretary of state, business license renewals as applicable

· Provides accounting support for mergers and acquisitions by reviewing financial information; converting data to general ledger system and reconciles with CPA reports

· Complete property tax reporting for all jurisdictions

· Work with and support various cross-functional teams (e.g. Sales, Operations, HR, etc.)

· Responsible for insurance renewals

· Create and update policies and procedures

· Assist and support with external audits

· Take initiative and participate in Ad hoc reporting as needed for financial analysis, management requests, etc.

· Perform other duties as assigned

· Analyzing and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
