ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: currently searching for one Student Assistant role that involves close collaboration with both the College Corps Program Manager and the Program Coordinator, primarily supporting the grant-funded #CaliforniansForAll College Corps program. This program is committed to nurturing the future civic leaders by involving college students in impactful community service. In addition to administrative tasks, this position will also include clerical duties such as data entry, document organization, and appointment scheduling. Furthermore, the Student Assistant will have intermediate marketing responsibilities, which may involve promoting program events, creating social media content, and assisting with outreach efforts to increase community involvement and engagement.

ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Enterprises offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Enterprises offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.

The Enterprises also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Enterprises and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Pepsi Scholarship. In addition, the Enterprises administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Enterprises contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

  • Collaborate with the team to develop and execute marketing strategies to promote program events, such as

workshops, seminars, and community service activities.

  • Collaborate with campus partners to promote shared projects/events/workshops through visual storytelling,

emphasizing the impact of partnership

  • Contribute to the program's social media presence by creating and scheduling engaging posts, updates, and

sharing relevant content.

  • Attend and participate in CPP College Corps Program events by actively engaging in any preparation planning,

serving as the event photographer, and uploading and editing any related media

  • Generate marketing content such as posters, flyers, newsletters, and other materials to advertise the program

and its activities

  • Collect and compile feedback from College Corps Fellows, program partners and participants to evaluate the

impact and effectiveness of the College Corps program and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Accurately input and maintain program-related data and records in digital databases or spreadsheets.
  • Organize and maintain program-related documents, ensuring they are easily accessible for reference.
  • Assist in outreach efforts to recruit college students for the College Corps program and engage the community in

its initiatives.

  • Help coordinate the involvement of College Corps Fellows in community service activities, ensuring smooth

logistics and communication.

  • Collect and compile feedback from College Corps Fellows, program partners and participants to evaluate the

impact and effectiveness of the College Corps program and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Work closely with the Center for Community Engagement office to align program goals with broader civic

engagement initiatives, sharing information, resources, and best practices to foster a strong relationship.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a Cal Poly Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent English verbal communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work well with various people including students, faculty, staff, and high-level administrators
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience in:

  • Marketing
  • Social media
  • Canva
  • Basic photography skills
