About The Role

We are looking to recruit an Academy Project Coordinator to join the team on a 1 year fixed term basis. Largely operating remotely (with the ability to travel across Cala's 8 regions as required), the role holder will support at an operational level through Construction leadership and learning programmes, projects, teams, and individuals, bringing best practice to build our learning culture. To provide support and delivery to the Academy Programme Manager, Construction Academy learners, suppliers and colleagues across Construction on learning and development activities.

Key Responsibilities / Deliverables: Include and are not limited to: -

L&D Expertise

Use L&D expertise to support, inform, manage and coordinate (as required) the implementation of different learning programmes, processes and initiatives across Cala Construction.

Learning Technologies

Support the design, build and implementation of Cala’s new Learning Management System ensuring continuity of the Academy service standards to our Construction teams throughout.

Collaboration

Collaborate with a wide range of Academy key stakeholders including the People Team, HSE, Construction Management/Secretaries and 3rd party providers on all initiatives (as appropriate).

Processes

Define, implement and manage key processes for the delivery and continuous improvement of Construction Academy services (including communication plans as required).

Examples include regional monthly reporting, annual Training Plan, ongoing course management (attendance/compliance), qualification requests and course evaluations.

Learner Management

Liaise with learners/stakeholders in coordinating learning events and/or qualifications (including complex programmes at scale e.g., leadership development programmes).

This may include room/hotel bookings, scheduling, external provider liaison, learning needs, material and resource management as well as general learner queries.

Budget Management

Identify and process all funding opportunities/applications associated with Academy delivery.

Maintaining the Academy invoicing/budget, ensuring accuracy allowing for informed decisions on spend to be made by the Academy Programme Manager.

Learner Support

First line response to Construction Academy related queries (internal/external), prioritising and escalating as required.

Programme Delivery

Contribute to and support the design and execution of the Academy’s wider support programmes, including focused workshops, facilitation exercises and Academy updates/reviews.

Design and Delivery

Support the design and delivery of learning interventions and processes, underpinned by the Cala values with clear outcomes identified, evaluated and impact assessed.

Reporting & Data

Collation of data and insights, as well as report management. This will include Academy monthly reporting, evaluation data from programmes, course attendance/records or online learning completions.

Performance

Supported by the Academy Programme Manager, communicate and coordinate the end of year Assessment processes for site management. This will include transitioning our existing processes onto the new LMS (identifying improvements wherever possible).

About You

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Essential:

  • Sound expertise relating to all aspects of learning and development
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to improve service and or processes
  • Experience of supporting the implementation of a Learning Management System
  • Experience of funding streams/applications (including CITB and Apprenticeship Levy)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills & a customer focus approach
  • Ability to work towards tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality and service
  • Ability to project manage own deliverables on multiple initiatives, prioritise workload and escalate issues where appropriate
  • Excellent communication skills working with colleagues at all levels of the business
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into insight
  • Experience of using graphic design platforms (for example Canva)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and 365

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in L&D within the Construction sector
  • Experience of designing and implementing effective eLearning solutions
