Calais School is Hiring a Speech and Language Pathologist - Part Time Near Whippany, NJ

Description

The Calais School is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Speech and Language Pathologist to work part time 2-3 days per week for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate must be passionate about helping children achieve success and be willing to support a friendly, positive, and professional environment. 

Requirements

  • Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice
  • Evaluate students using appropriate tests, skilled professional observation, and supplementary information from other agencies and records
  • Experience working with high school students
  • Experience with young adults - carrying over skills to community and workplace
  • Effectively implement techniques/tools to work on social pragmatic language skills
  • Incorporate technology into lessons
  • Experience drafting docum
    ents for IEP's and goal writing at the high school level
  • Interpret assessment findings and appropriately convey information to parents and school teams.
  • Participate with the school team to develop Individualized Education Programs and Section 504 Plans
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies
  • Evaluate and report on student progress
  • Communicate and consult with school staff, parents, administrators, physicians, community, and other professionals
  • Serve as a resource to parent, school team, staff, and administration
  • Candidate must possess a CCC-SLP certification and has experience working with children K-12.
  • Must be NJ State Certified and nationally certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association
