Pay Rate: $40.00 - $48.00 per hour (W2 ONLY)

This role is 100% ONSITE (Local Candidates only)

HOURS: 7:30AM - 4:00 PM MON-FRI

Networking Technician will support this client's MANUFACTURING site (not a data center) environment. They will spend most of their time working on the manufacturing plant floor, where they will go and troubleshoot systems used on the plant floor, this includes wireless and structured cabling, based on BICSI standards. They will act as the main point of contact for business changes (moves /adds /lease replacements /network services / decommission /configuration/ testing) and dealing with contractors, acting as a liaison to the customer for various projects.

Responsibilities Include:

- Day-to-day support, operation and control of all equipment within the IT network infrastructure, including configuration backup and restore, production of network performance statistics, provision of network diagnostic information and site surveys.

- Systematically manage information relating to the documentation, software, hardware and firmware network assets.

- Control and manage network services and their availability to ensure that all services meet all of their agreed availability targets.

- Manage the capability and functionality of hardware, software and network components to meet current and predicted needs in a cost-effective manner.

- Manage all changes to the components of a live infrastructure, from requests for change (RFC) through to implementation and review, to support the continued availability, effectiveness and safety of the infrastructure.

- Resolve incidents and problems in your technology life-cycle, including classification, prioritization and initiation of action, documentation of root causes and implementation of remedies.

TOPS SKILLS NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE:

** Cabling experience - Fiber and Copper

** Knowledge of Cisco networking, hardware configuration, switching, routing and wireless

** Strong problem/troubleshooting networking skills.

** Planning/Scheduling and Coordinating - (provided an organized approach to capturing data and scoping it)

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Solid experience with Cabling (Fiber and Copper).

• 3 years of experience Cisco networking, hardware configuration, switching, routing and wireless

• Supported complex network routing, switching, virtualization, and load balancing technologies

• Proficient PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other technical software)

• Able to go up/down ladders (20ft high) and lifting up to 50 pounds

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

• Able to work onsite full time and weekends when needed

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required

Desired Skills:

• Worked in a Manufacturing plant, production environment

• Knowledge of BICSI Safety Standards/Awareness - How to run/install cables, how to install fiber, fiber stop, cabinets, grounding

• CCNA or higher certification

• Worked with SolarWinds
