Data Coordinator (Culinary)

Hybrid - Seattle, WA

6-month, project-based position with the possibility of extension. (W2, Benefits, Weekly Pay)

SUMMARY

A key role in a far-reaching culinary project. Work with us to create new culinary product specification documentation as well as maintain and update culinary production database.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain systems for entering recipe details into company database.
  • Maintain relationships with other teams and team members
  • Enter routine data into established hosting systems,
  • Collect and audit data/materials from various sources.
  • Organize and prepare information for entry/upload into various systems
  • Track down and secure missing data.
  • Respond promptly to requests for data and information.
  • Identifying and correcting data inconsistencies.
  • Preparing periodic and routine reports.
  • Supports team efforts to evaluate and understand process-related work issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Actively participates in team meetings.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Ensure data is entered into hosting systems in accordance with maintenance schedule and policies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum 1 year data entry experience
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Special consideration for candidates with nutrition and/or food labeling regulatory background. background.
  • Familiar with hosting and downstream systems.
  • Familiar with production systems and/or manufacturing.
  • Comfortable with all computer operating systems, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to seek clarification whenever needed and escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Ability to (and interest in!) repetitive tasks that require extreme accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to perform system data entry while maintaining high degree of data integrity.
  • Ability to identify and correct routine data integrity issues.
  • Ability to follow standard procedures and written direction to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Ability to follow recipes; read and understand culinary measurements and methods.
  • Ability to perform simple math and culinary conversions.
  • Ability to quickly process and respond to feedback.
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to fellow Team Members.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures.
  • Strong and effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of ingredient information and nutritional facts.
  • Ability to learn photography basics and operate a camera.
  • Ability to upload images and follow photo storage and labeling systems.
  • Ability to build job aids in various programs, including step-by-step recipe instruction and merchandising guidance.
  • Maintain high productivity levels; actively seek out efficiencies and additional work as needed.
  • A desire to learn about natural and organic foods and products.
  • Good working knowledge of and adherence to all relevant Whole Foods Market policies, company mission, and standards.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Shared working environment with movement in and out of a working professional kitchen.
  • Must adhere to company dress code and standards of production kitchen dress and PPE (personal protective equipment).
  • Continuous computer use through workday.
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to and work within varying temperatures and conditions (walk-in coolers and freezers, near ovens and smokers, etc.)
  • Exposure to continuous background noise and occasional loud noises.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
  • Unassisted lifting of up to 50 pounds.
