Job Description:

Under the guidance of the Dean, and it support of their team, the Community College Specialist leads statewide efforts related to assigned programs, in addition to performing day-to-day activities for the regional portfolio of the programs assigned to regional monitoring, plus handles evaluation, fiscal and data analysis for the assigned statewide program. Primary duties are related to community college administration. The Program Specialist consults with administrators and Community College Program Assistants (CCPAs) on community college district compliance as well as provides technical assistance, all in development of specifications for RFA and LOI grant criteria.

The Program Specialist provides statewide leadership and guidance related to all aspects of assigned program. Duties are maintaining full knowledge of the program(s) and keeping up to date on any changes in legislation,grant program management and performance related to statewide outcomes for the assigned program; creating, drafting, and developing RFAs and LOIs while ensuring accuracy and managing timelines, especially related to outcomes and deliverables; coordinating the application review and scoring, preparing analyses and recommendations for awards; developing program guidance and policy recommendations; and writing briefing documents for the Dean and executive staff, as appropriate.

The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on the Chancellor's Office's evolving telework policy. The Chancellor's Office supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to the headquarters office in Sacramento if an urgent need arises.

Working Conditions
