The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) seeks an enthusiastic and experienced leader with internal communications and stakeholder engagement expertise as our next Associate Deputy Chief, Strategic Communications and External Affairs, within the Office of Public and Employee Communications (OPEC)!
The Associate Deputy Chief, Strategic Communications and External Affairs (ADC) coordinates internal and external communications strategies for CDCR, on a wide range of the department's most complex correctional issues. The ADC collaborates with OPEC leadership to push the department's messaging to key stakeholders, as well as liaise between the Department and external stakeholders on key initiatives and communications.
This is primarily an in-office role, where remote work is occasional, and travel is required. The physical office location is currently in downtown Sacramento, CA at the Department's Headquarters.

Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

Dates printed on Mobile Bar Codes, such as the Quick Response (QR) Codes available at the USPS, are not considered Postmark dates for the purpose of determining timely filing of an application.
