Description: Creative individual with a passion for the arts and strong people skills to facilitate the implementation of the District Arts for All plan. All duties will be under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Support Services or designee. Essential Duties: Lead the development and oversight of the arts curriculum; supervise and adminster a district-wide art education program; coordinate curriculum development, professional development, and support services to teachers and administrators in a K-8 fine arts program; provide guidance in the selection of textbooks and other instructional materials and equipment for the program; supervise the ordering, inventory, and distribution of materials and equipment for the art education program; assist in developing and conducting district-wide staff development for instructional staff; assist with the preparation and monitoring of the program's budget under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent; Create and build a strong base of community support; maintain and acquire resources to ensure ongoing monetary and community support for the arts programs; provide leadership in the establishment of a non-profit foundation to support the arts in the district. Qualifications: Teaching credential; possess considerable teaching experience that includes experience in at least one of the arts; demonstrates ability to deliver professional development; knowledge of standards and curriculum framework; excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills that ensure the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, the community and administrative staff.
