Job SummaryJob Summary
Assists in the daily operation of the school health office; administers first aid to ill and injured students; performs a variety of clerical duties relating to the school health program. Daily assignments are 6 hours per day. Incumbents may be assigned to elementary, middle or high school sites. EDUCATION: Must possess a secondary (i.e., high school) school diploma, or its equivalent. EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months of clerical or other paid or unpaid experience working with school age children. Experience with administering first aid is desirable. SPECIAL LICENSE OR LANGUAGE SKILLS • Must obtain a standard First Aid Certificate and complete a Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course within thirty (30) days of employment and obtain annual CPR re-certification. • The ability to read, write and speak a language in addition to English, such as Spanish or Armenian, is desirable. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Employees must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of a position with or without reasonable accommodation and without hazard to themselves or others. May be required to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
