The Personnel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until canceled. There is currently TWO positions open in our Transportation Department. This is a 6 hour/day, 10 month position. Under general supervision, to operate a school bus over designated routes transporting students; to transport school groups on special trips which may be out of town; and to do related work as required.

Training and Experience A work history demonstrating dependability and reliability; good driving record; one year experience in the operation of a motor vehicle; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Knowledge of Safe driving practices Basic first aid Ability to Drive a school bus safely over a variety of normal and hazardous road conditions. Maintain order among students on a bus. Make simple reports. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff members, and the public. Physically lift and assist students, as necessary. Licenses Possession of a valid California Driver's License Class I, II, or III. Possession of a valid California Special Driver's Certificate for School Buses. Possession of a valid Medical Certificate approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles or the Federal Highway Administration of the US Department of Transportation.
