Job Description And Duties The Information Systems Division works in collaboration with programs and county agencies, to provide solutions to systems that assist families access essentials such as, but not limited to, medical services, care providers, groceries, and transportation.
The Information Systems Division (ISD) of the California Departmental of Social Services (CDSS) is seeking critical thinkers who are highly motivated self-starters, greatly organized with good follow through, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, customer centric, and enjoy collaborating with cross functional teams to provide value-add services and/or deliver IT solutions.
We have flexible schedules in a hybrid (remote/telework and on campus) work environment.
The following includes the essential duties and/or responsibilities of the Project Management Support position:
  • Offer project and project portfolio management support services for complex and sensitive information technology projects while adhering to the Project Management body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and the CA Project Methodology Framework (CA-PMF).
  • Implement project management best practices to effectively meet project goals and objectives by assisting with project management business and technical support tasks related to scope, schedule, quality assurance, risk/issue management, and planning.
  • Update processes and assist with developing and maintaining project plans, Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) documents, Planning Expenditure Reports, Special Project Reports, and other status reports.
  • Conduct business analysis activities to obtain an in-depth understanding of system processes by collaborating to determine business needs by documenting, analyzing, and refining requirements/user stories, and conducting fiscal analyses.
  • Assisting with the facilitation of user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • May also lead and coordinate IT projects that are less complex in nature to a successful completion.

Telework / Remote Work Information: This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California.
