Job description
This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan. Under general supervision of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) I, the Staff Services Analyst, individually or as a part of team, performs health facility surveys and investigations of average complexity to determine the health care facilities’ compliance with State and federal licensing and certification requirements for the Life Safety Code Section (LSC), Licensing and Certification, Department of Public Health. The incumbent evaluates and inspects fire alarm, automatic sprinkler, and emergency power systems and the physical structure, operation, construction and environmental conditions of the health facility, to determine compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes, and other State and Federal codes required for participation in the Medicare and Medi-Cal programs. The incumbent communicates, and interacts with facility staff during the survey process and prepares comprehensive written reports of survey findings including conclusions and recommendations for supervisor review. As directed, incumbent prepares statement of deficiencies (citations). 85% Travel is required.
The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I).
