Basic Function:
Under the direction of the Dean and Department Chair, the lecturer is responsible for providing academic instruction to students for the assigned courses. The lecturer is to serve as an academic advisor to students; contribute to department and university activities and serve on faculty and university committees.
Program Directors at the School of Management bear the overall academic and administrative responsibility and as this is a year-round program there are summer program director responsibilities. Program Directors are the face of their program for potential and current students, faculty, staff, the business and non-profit community and a general audience. They have responsibilities that are both inwardly and outwardly directed and must possess both strong analytical and inter-personal skills. In addition, the Program Director is responsible for providing academic instruction to students for the assigned graduate courses. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as an academic advisor to students and serving on faculty or university committees, as outlined in the faculty handbook.
Representative Duties:
Primary responsibilities for this position include teaching 24 or 32 units/year. E
Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses. Create assignments and activities in one-on-one, classroom, and distance mediated instructional settings for development of cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills among students. E
Participates in School and University level marketing and recruitment planning. E
Participates in the creation of general program related messaging, copy editing and decisions concerning the creative design for program related materials. E
Continuously ensures accuracy and efficacy of program website. E
Closely coordinates activities with Graduate Program Specialist, Marketing and Outreach.
Participate in information sessions with potential students. E
Provides leadership for curriculum development and develops and periodically revises the program mission. E
Develops program learning outcomes in alignment with university level and school level learning outcomes. E
Plans, implements and participates in periodic program reviews as required by accreditation bodies. E
Builds, manages and communicates with program advisory board. E
Attends commencement and participates in the organization of any commencement related activities. E
Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes through assignments, projects, discussions, and examinations; provide feedback promptly to student inquiries in class, online, or during established consultation office hours. E
Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment, attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum; prepare and submit grades, data, and reports related to the course and student progress promptly. E
Provide a course syllabus to students in each class within the first week of the class, as outlined in the faculty handbook. E
Adhere to the responsibilities related to teaching, advising, service, professional, and creative activities, as outlined in the faculty handbook. E
Attend and participate on committees and in the department, division, campus, and University meetings. E
Evening and weekend hours may be required. E
Perform related duties as assigned. E

Work constructively with their colleagues and to treat faculty, staff, administrators, and students with respect and professionalism.
Analyze situations accurately and adopt practical courses of action.
Satisfactorily fulfill a faculty members duties and responsibilities and making significant contributions to the University community.
Demonstrate commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth within-subject field or discipline
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters in Personal Financial Planning, or MBA or Masters in finance with an emphasis/concentration in Personal Financial Planning, or MBA in Business
Administration with emphasis/concentration/major/minor in Financial Planning.
Active CFP license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters in Personal Financial Planning, or MBA or Masters in finance with an emphasis/concentration in Personal Financial Planning, or MBA in Business
Administration with emphasis/concentration/major/minor in Financial Planning.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
Active CFP license.
Physical Abilities:
Detect to understand appropriate written correspondence; communicate clearly to exchange information in person and via the telephone or video; operate a computer and other office productivity machinery; stationary position for extended periods of time; move or transport light objects; position self to store and/or retrieve files.
Working Environment:
This is a new faculty search to start in the 2024-2025 Academic Year.
Hiring Range $56,000-$90,000
