Base Salary: $6,957 – $9,610
$200 for bilingual pay
$700 recruitment & retention
Total Monthly: $7,857 – $10,510

Annual Salary: $94,284 – $126,120
Duties
Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Assessment, the incumbent in this position will provide comprehensive
academic and psychological assessments for Deaf and hard of hearing students at the California School for the Deaf,
Fremont. The psychologist is responsible for the direct assessment of students - records review, parent/staff interviews,
testing, scoring, interpretation, clear and accurate report writing, observations, and recommendations as dictated by
school and state policy and federal legislation. The psychologist uses appropriate expressive and receptive
communication skills as well as promoting the use of American Sign Language (ASL), attends and/or coordinates IEP
meetings, and acts as a resource to students, parents, staff, and the community.
Required Qualifications

1) Possession of, or eligibility for a California Pupil Personnel Services credential in School Psychology
2) Master’s degree or higher in Psychology
3) Relevant experience conducting psychological and academic assessments for school-aged Deaf students
4) Fluency in expressive and receptive American Sign Language (ASL) of at least a Level 4 ASLPI
5) Good command of written English
6) Strong cultural perspective of Deaf

Conditions of Employment
Subject to fingerprinting and criminal record clearance by the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation
and Tuberculosis clearance. This position is designated as safety sensitive and is subject to reasonable suspicion drug
and alcohol testing.
