Lecturer in Art History / Fall 2024

We are hiring a lecturer for Fall 24 in Art History or Visual Studies to teach one course for Fall 2024 semester (August 19—December 20, 2024):

We have one course that is in need of an instructor: Art History 2302 (AH 2302-1) AH 2302 World Art: Renaissance through Modern Europe and the United States. 

Catalog Description:

Comprehensive survey and analysis of the development of art in Western civilization from the Renaissance through the modern period in Europe and the United States (ca. 15th through 20th centuries)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Art History or a related discipline by the date of employment application. 

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in Art History or a related discipline by the date of the employment application is -strongly- preferred. The Ph.D. preference may be waived if the applicant is ABD or has extensive and distinguished professional experience directly related to his/her proposed teaching assignment.
• Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred, along with evidence of effective teaching.

Responsibilities

AH 2302 World Art: Renaissance through Modern Europe and the United States is taught in person, on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona, in Pomona California. The class is on Tuesday / Thursday from 4:00pm to 5:15pm with a 2 hour requirement for office hours, either in person or virtual.
