Callaway Golf is looking for Director of Software Engineering to join our growing team. The Director will partner with functional leaders from across the business, architecture and technology teams and will be responsible for the overall oversight, design and delivery of enterprise level Commerce and Custom technology projects from inception through implementation.
Roles And Responsibilities
  • Drive the vision and engineering for platforms, services in the digital and commerce domain.
  • Define the vision and strategy for design, development, and maintenance of Commercial technologies & solutions to support continued automation and ease of work supporting the growth of the Digital Enterprise.
  • Lead the delivery and management of packaged and custom software solution
  • Ensure strategic technology planning is in place, including technology roadmaps and release schedules that align to business needs and value delivery
  • Ensure accountability of project delivery in alignment with technical and business requirements
  • Drive technology-driven benefit realization and delivery of intended results in partnership with project sponsors and business facing teams,
  • Own and report metrics against targets, prioritization with stakeholders, and financial and budget tracking
  • Lead, coach, mentor a diverse team consisting of project managers, architects, analysts and developers.
  • Work closely with domain architects and software development teams to support and guide development teams implementing your solutions and educate teams on corresponding technical aspects.
  • Develop and monitor adherence to integration standards and will utilize these standards to design solutions that meet operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability.
  • Deep understanding of integration technologies and practices as well as the business acumen to develop overarching system designs.
  • Investigate new technologies and techniques and research ongoing industry developments through a partnership with the Architecture team.
  • Big picture thinker and creative problem solver, able to thrive strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment while overseeing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Provide operational support to supported technology and systems.
  • Provides feedback, proposes solutions, and suggests improvements.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategy
  • Strong skills in strategy and planning, budget management
  • Ability to communicate complex subjects effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience of directing, leading, influencing and operating in a complex geographical / functional matrix organization.
COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Excellent understanding of sales solution solutions and business acumen
  • Expertise in B2B solutions for customers and sales representatives,
  • Expertise in enterprise-grade solutions.
  • Expertise in Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) tools & practices is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and present technical information in a concise manner to business stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism in working collaboratively at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software development
  • Minimum 6 years directing software engineering teams with growing responsibility.
  • Minimum 5 years in Enterprise-scale application delivery
  • Proven track record leadership in owning and delivering technology solutions.
  • Experience with high volume B2B eCommerce systems
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture, headless Commerce, API integration and other cloud-based solutions.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering API/Middleware integration projects.
  • You are ready for working flexible work hours to match global project implementations and team interactions
  • Experience directly leading, developing people and teams is required.
  • Experienced in leading and managing multiple project initiatives and delivering results in fast paced environment.
  • Experience building, mentoring, and managing highly effective delivery teams.
  • Experience in building relationships with third party vendors, developing and managing project budgets, cost plans.
  • Functional knowledge of ecommerce, supply chain, and order management, experience with SAP ERP preferred
  • Hands on project and program management experience
  • Background in agile methodologies is highly valued.
