About the Position:

Under the general direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), the incumbent provides guidance, direction, and expertise to district staff and managers regarding fisheries, fish passage, barriers to fish passage, and hydro-acoustic analysis related to biological impacts. The incumbent participates in various internal and external working groups, technical teams, and committees, and helps to coordinate remediation of barriers to fish and aquatic species across in District 1. The incumbent is part of an interdisciplinary team which will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex biological studies, and analytical reports to ensure compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and numerous other state and federal environmental resource laws and regulations.
