Job Description And DutiesUnder the general direction of the Office of Maintenance Environmental, Branch Chief. The incumbent is responsible for providing compliance documents in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Public Resource Code 5024, and other federal and state laws and regulations applicable to cultural resources including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the most complex aspects of cultural resource compliance for transportation projects; in addition to being the subject matter expert in the field of archaeology within the branch, supporting other staff including Environmental Scientists, Environmental Planners and Associate Environmental Planners.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
