Job SummaryAs an Electrical Assembler, your primary duty is to assemble controls, equipment, and subassemblies in accordance with technical drawings, written and/or verbal instructions, and comprehension of the overall machine design and function. Once the custom-made equipment is dispatched to the customer, you may get an opportunity to travel, get it set up, and train clients on how to use their new equipment.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, or similar documentation, then build to those specifications.
- Assemble and wire control panels, electrical equipment, sub-assemblies, and more - according to directions.
- Installation of above control panels, subassemblies on the actual machine.
- Use various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks, maintaining documentation accuracy and operation of final assembly.
- Inventory tools, parts, and supplies and contact materials handler if supplies are needed.
- Operates electrical test equipment including multi-meters, RPM counters, and sound meters.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
- Basic computer skills required to open and view technical information.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
- Detail-oriented and consistent.
- Validate and maintain documentation on drawings and/or instructions.
- Work well as a productive member of a team for on-time shipments.
- Ability to perform repairs on equipment.
- Basic ability in mathematics, reading or writing.
- Desire to grow in the position as the documenter/creator of all electrical assemblies and all necessary documentation.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks for most of the workday.
- Must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds at a time.
- Must have manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
- Must wear eye protection and safety footwear.
