Job Description:

As an RN in the Medical-Surgical unit, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. You will work closely with physicians, patients, and families to ensure effective treatment and recovery. Your role will involve assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Assess and monitor patient conditions, including vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatments.
• Administer Medications: Provide medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosage and administration.
• Develop Care Plans: Collaborate with healthcare team members to create and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Perform Procedures: Assist with and perform routine medical procedures, including wound care, catheter insertions, and IV placements.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Coordinate with Healthcare Team: Communicate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document Care: Accurately record patient information, treatments, and progress in electronic health records (EHR).
• Monitor Patient Progress: Track patient progress, respond to changes in conditions, and report significant findings to the healthcare team.
• Manage Patient Needs: Address patient needs, including pain management, mobility assistance, and emotional support.
• Ensure Compliance: Follow hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control procedures to maintain a safe care environment.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience: Previous experience in a Med-Surg or similar clinical setting is preferred.
• Skills: Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in using EHR systems.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $2,100.00 - $2,200.00 per week
